Successful trip to Missouri! And now we’re working on a successful trip back, which is much harder.

Fourth of July was spent fishing, drinking and watching fireworks. We told our younger cousins that drinking beer makes your hair and your teeth fall out. And then Nathaniel told me he could see where my hair was falling out. hmph..

Yesterday was the big 50th anniversary party — another success. Lots of food and family. I couldn’t remember who half the people were, but luckily there were still plenty of people left to talk to.

Today. I am tired. And sitting in the car is not nearly as much fun as it was on the way to Missouri. And I’m definitely not looking forward to working tomorrow. Blerg. I think it needs to become a higher priority for me to open my own business and make my own hours.

We’re in Oklahoma. It’s 3:13 and OU still sucks.

Pros to the trip back
- We have 4 bags of homemade jerky, 2 logs of deer sausage, peanut butter pretezels, salt water taffy, pistachios, chocolate covered coffee beans, and subway sandwiches
- I still have internet
- There are less butts in the car
- There are no other pros.. that’s all I’ve got.

Cons to the trip back
- Everything.

Yes. At least once. With just a knife? Possibly once.

Have I ever peeled BOXES FULL OF POTATOES? No. I do not feed an army of people on a regular bases. Luckily I’ve been able to make friends with people that thoroughly enjoy cooking for me. Life is good.

Today we ate at Little Kitty’s for lunch. I didn’t even know they had restaurants in Meta/St. Thomas. But oh, I was proven wrong. Little Kitty’s is there to feed you anything.. particularly burritos, mozzarella sticks, fried tacos, onion rings, french fries, and fried chicken. A heart attack just waiting to happen. However, we balanced our meal with a good round at the batting cages.

People in Missouri take there baseball very seriously. My cousin, Erin, is one of the top 14 yr. old pitchers around. So we had to break in her new bat before tomorrow’s game. I bravely, courageously entered the batting cage with her and my other cousin, Becky. And I heroically survived. Please, hold your applause for when I come home.

The rest of the afternoon was spent peeling potatoes and decorating the town hall for the big event on Sunday. I have a video to post about learning how to make potatoes, but it’ll have to wait til tomorrow.

P.S. I have wonderful news to announce, my aunt Karen is a smart, smart, wonderfully great woman who has wireless internet!! holla!

We’re driving through Rolla and Dad would be kissing the ground if he wasn’t in the car. He keeps going “And there I…” “One time over here…” I’m only 21 and I do the same thing in Austin. Scary.

Oh wait, I just found out we’re actually getting out of the car so he can kiss the ground. AND THEY HAVE FREE WI-FI!!!

I’m dying out here man!!! The internet is going in and out and I can’t blog anymore!! AHhhhhhhhh!! Just posting this post has taken me ages. .falls over and dies. I think I’m officially an internet junkie. I might start going through withdrawals here shortly. Karen, you better have a drink ready for me!

We’re almost to Rolla, and I think this might be the last time I’ll be able to blog again in the car. I watched High Fidelity.. good movie. I liked it. I like John Cusack.

We’re on our way to Missouri!! And I can check my email from the backseat of the car. I’m pretty excited.

David & Erin are coming back on Saturday afternoon? or noonish? Erin wants to sleep in, but David wants to go fishing. Which leads us to Saturday, Erin, David & I are down for some fishing? We forgot our fishing poles though. Well actually, I don’t have a fishing pole but apparently David has one.

Karen, my mom hasn’t called you back but I know I want some beer. Maybe margaritas? That’d be fun… Margaritas and hot tub? Sounds amazing.

David just informed us we have one hour done. Only 11 more. I’ll write every hour of our adventures, don’t worry it will be as obnoxious as possible.

Holy crap? I just opened my email for the day and never have I had so many incoming emails. No doubt this sounds like a fun and exciting weekend coming up.

As for work, I don’t feel sorry for anyone. We bankers are screwed out of this holiday because it falls on a Saturday. But don’t worry, I was granted Monday off to spend time with everyone. Watch out for Friday at 4:00, that is when my weekend starts and believe me I will start it with a bang. Hope all that travel have a safe trip out and can’t wait to see everyone.

Well, this part of Oklahoma is pretty…

We just passed Eufaulah? Lake? in Oklahoma. It was actually quite beautiful. So beautiful that David thinks him and Erin should move there. I think the road is officially warping our thought-process. .shakes my head.

Another note that I wanted to talk about, actually it’s a complaint to Alamo Rental. We rented a van with Alamo rental in Austin, TX… and the radio came with Sirius hook-up. So if you have a Sirius subscription, you could potentially listen to it in your rental. Luckily, we have a Sirius subscription. Unluckily, Alamo did not tell us they had to turn it on for us. So when we couldn’t get it to work we called them, they said we would have to stop at an Alamo Rental location for them to manually turn it on. That’s too much time out of our way..very inconvenient. So Mom called Sirius to see if they could do it from there side… apparently Alamo Rental has not even paid for Sirius to be connected in this car! If we HAD stopped to get it connected, they would have actually switched out our cars! Even more inconvenient! Not good Alamo Rental, not good at all.

It’s 2:56pm and OU still sucks.

Everyone took restful naps minus David.. he’s watching some movie on Chicago and Mom, she was driving. However, as all good things, this too had to come to an end. I had to update all of ya’ll about our naps!

We went to Taco Bell to pee. I come outside to see Mom and David diligently inspecting the hood of the car’s sticky stuff. I sophmorically told them it was bugs, which Mom responded “No, THOSE are bugs”. Disgusting stuff going on on this hood.

Just to let ya’ll know, we are driving a Kia Minivan… gold colored. I’ve spotted at least 9 cup holders and two AC outlets.

398 miles to go. The roughest has not yet even begun.

Art, this is Sarah. Durrr. Hence the Sarah Rose Osman’s blog. I’m going to let it slide this time b/c 1) You’re my uncle and can probably still beat me up 2) I liked your comment about using alcohol as a substitute for brushing your teeth and 3) I’m just that nice of a person

We went to Schlotzsky’s for lunch. Not exciting. They waited on us though? Since when did fast food become fine dining? The boundaries have been blurred and I don’t think I like it. .raises an eyebrow. However, Nancy (I think that was her name?) was extremely nice and even brought us a mint afterward! (Like I said before, I know I brushed my teeth.. but the rest are questionable).

At Schlotzsky’s I was hoping they’d have wireless internet, but I’m having extreme difficulties uploading photos and videos since I’m streaming internet through wireless cell phone coverage. (I have a utter faith in ya’ll that you somehow know just what I’m talking about! ) But they didn’t have wireless, so no videos or photos yet. Major bummer. haha I’m sure you guys are just DYING to see what it’s like in the car. Note: That was sarcasm

Shout out to Karen, b/c I started typing this as Mom was talking to her. Can’t wait to eat cereal and drink beer with you! haha

Added Note: I forgot that I was suppose to blog about how Erin broke her finger. Well she didn’t really break the bone, but it’s hurt. Ya’ know? Anyways, David only allows her to complain about it once an hour. (He’s a pretty rough husband..) and so here she is with her broke finger.
